LV Monogram & Japanese Heraldry:Do you see the similarities?
"It’s no accident tht Louis Vuitton was successful in Japan. One of them is little known. In Japan, ‘LV’ had the obvious legitimacy of being a source of valuable objects in the eyes of the elite. The LV monogram canvas created in 1892 carried small geometric signs that had no meaning for the average Westerner. In fact, they are Mon signs, linked to Japanese heraldry symbols; in 1892 Europe was in the grip of a Japanizing current, whose aesthetics influenced the design of the canvas This was immediately decoded by the Japanese eye as a sign of intrinsic value."

"To live and die in LA, it’s the place to be"
I’ve recently visited the city of angels and this is a glimpse of LA through my eyes.
Top reasons why I’m infatuated with LA:
- one of the best architectural cities in the world including great works of Walt Disney Concert Hall, Griffith Observatory and Bradbury Building
- breathtaking views everywhere! the hills, canyon, mountains, beach. and how can you not love the palm trees?
- food is amazing in any type of cuisine you can think of, and even more multicultural than Canada
I could keep the list running for a while including shopping, attractions, cultural heritage but I’ll just keep it short!

Outliers
"Success arises out of steady accumulation of advantages: when and where you are born, what your parents did for a living, what circumstances of your upbringing as well as traditions and attitudes we inherit from our forebears.
It’s not the brightest who succeed nor is success simply the sum of decisions and efforts we make on our own behalf. It’s rather a gift to those - who have been given opportunities and - who have the strength and presence of mind to seize them.
To build a better world we need to replace the patchwork of luck breaks and arbitrary advantages that today determine success - the fortunate birthdates and happy accidents of history - with a society that provides opportunities for all.
The outlier, in the end, is not an outlier at all.” - Malcolm Gladwell

Baby, Sugar Me!
Louis Vuitton S/S 2012 Ad Campaign

"The spirit of our Spring/Summer 2012 collection is reflected beautifully in this new ad campaign," says Louis Vuitton Artistic Director Marc Jacobs. "All the tone and texture of the collection — the lightness, the prettiness, the broderie anglaise, the millefeuille layers of organza — are recreated in these wonderful images by Steven Meisel. It is all very soft and very sweet, yet at the same time very bold and very graphic.”

"The Great Journey of the Little Bagcharms" - Louis Vuitton

To commemorate the release of the elegant air balloon bagcharm, inspired by the Iconic Monogram canvas created in 1896, Louis Vuitton has imagined the adventure of this little collectable - a miniature version of a monogram trunk suspended from an air-balloon wanders through an unknown and ancient world in search of its home.

Jason Wu for Target
It’s finally here! Target has finally unleashed the images of the complete Jason Wu collabo collection and it’s absolutely stunning.
Jason Wu previously said “My goal was not to duplicate anything from my main collection… Instead I designed completely new clothes and accessories that reflect my taste and have a voice of their own.”
And he did! Unlike the lacy and glamorous looks on the runway, this collection is flirty, playful and versatile with pleats, primary colors and prim collars. The prices are simply too appealing to pass up on, $19.99-$59.99.
These are my favorite 5 looks, especially the middle one.
I predict this will become another Missoni for Target or Versace for H&M situation!
Will you be there on Feb 5?

Send a Botanical Postcard This Christmas

It’s a postcard! It’s a garden! It’s Postcarden!

Send your holiday wishes with this greeting card that grows into a garden after watering and sprinkling its packet. Only takes a couple of days for unruly sprouts of “Lepidium sativum” (aka watercress which is edible!) furling through the paper arches of your mini botanical garden.
Bring your gloomy winter dwelling, desks and window sills to life!

Also comes in different themes, click here.

The Trendiest Dressers
Celato Storage units by De Castelli, Italian designer
Say bye to boring, bland storage! These sleek, masculine structure (copper, iron or brass) are hidden birch wood drawers that blend right in with the structure and are deep enough for your various personal items. These would make a very awesome medieval library/den.
